The “Islamic Association Imam Mahdi (aj)" was born in the year 2004 through the efforts of a group of Muslims living in Italy (especially Italian muslims) to enable the Islamic community to preserve and reinforce its identity and to promote and encourage the unity of all Muslims without distinction of language, nationality or race.

The Association aims to comfort muslims and believers so that they will be able to receive the Islamic message and knowledge to their convenience which will allow them to practice the Islamic faith. The Association wants to convey the message of peace and justice throughout the whole society by certifying the presence of believers in productive and cultural activities in Italy. We provide Islamic literature in Italian language for the needs of Muslims as well as non-Muslims who are searching for guidance and who are willing to increase their intellectual and spiritual knowledge. We hope that our efforts will benefit all people creating a better relationship with their Creator (swt) not only within ourselves but also with all our brothers and sisters in faith and the whole society. We would like to collaborate and cooperate with other associations and similar entities encouraging unity and together strengthening the ties of brotherhood in the Muslim community.     

The headquarter of the Association is based in Rome (Via Gualdo Tadino n. 17). The center works as a meeting point for Muslims and non-Muslims alike as a support for our self-development under the the eyes of God. The center is also abode for worship and conferences. We are deeply convinced that Islam is a complete way of life leading to happiness, success and mutual respect amongst one another and with everybody. We believe that the faith of Islam is so bright that if muslims live in accordance to the light descended with the Qur'an, they will be able to live without any fear or complex of inferiority before anyone but Him (swt) and they will be able to establish that sense of tranquility present at the time of our beloved Prophet (S).

In order to reach this divine goal we think it is necessary to build a solid basis according to three points: knowledge, piety and awareness of the condition of the oppressed. The knowledge is the hidden treasure from which Islam can be understood and presented to the people appropriately, the piety is the tool for the purification of the soul which is an essential ingredient to reach the required atmosphere God pointed us to move towards, and the awareness of the condition of the oppressed is the element by which a real Islamic identity can be constructed in order to achieve the elevated goal of Islam.

We pray to God Almighty (swt) for the success of the Muslims in Italy and all around the world both in their individual and social lives. May Him (swt) make them witness the sunshine of a new wonderful day.
